Stone Town Heritage
A guided walk through the coral-stone lanes of the old town.

A short sail from Stone Town to Changuu Island, its famous giant tortoises, its history, and clear water for a swim.
Just off Stone Town, Changuu, better known as Prison Island, makes for an easy and enjoyable half-day on the water.
A short boat ride brings you to the island, home to a colony of giant Aldabra tortoises, some well over a century old, which you can see up close. The island also carries a layered history reflected in its old buildings, and its clear surrounding water is good for a swim or snorkel before you head back. It's a relaxed, varied outing that's especially popular with families.
